I know the Q7 is new and this might not be a common practice, but has anything thought about painting the brake calipers. Is it a big mistake to be thinking about painting them on a $60k+ car?

I have a graphite grey Q7 with black powder coated 21" wheels and when I look at it I do think... "some red brake calipers would look pretty sweet". So I'm interested to see what others think about this.

So took my Ink Blue Q7 into the detailer to discuss getting Ceramic Pro done and they mentioned that they could also do brake caliper painting while the car is in for the week... Thinking about either red or blue (Porsche Rivera Blue)... Decisions, decisions...

I painted my calipers satin black because the raw aluminum was looking bad. Took the car to a couple of car & coffee and my wife said she wanted red. We comprised and I painted them red...
Painting anything requires good prep work. Clean them well, wire brush and sand them then wipe them down with brake cleaner or rubbing alcohol. Here's a link to how mine look.

Im planning to go a glossy black paint on my Q. Powder coating would be ideal but I really do not want to remove and disassemble the brand new calipers.
