Recently A4.Org contacted Audi of America to determine the Y2K status of the Audi automobiles. Here is the information that was provided:

Question: Will my car be affected by Y2K problems? Answer: Not in the least. In terms of Y2K, the electronic systems used in all current Audis do not have a year counter and thus they will not be adversely affected. This also applies to diagnostic equipment used by Audi dealers. This May the 2000 Audi TT Coupe will be introduced in the US (It will be introduced as a quattro-equipped model in Canada by year's end). This sports car does have a date display on the dashboard but it shows the year as four digits and thus will not be adversely affected.

To date we have not seen an official press release from Audi AG or Audi of America on this topic. More information will be provided as it becomes available.
