All Audi Models Comes Standard with “Push-Pull” Power Window Switches
AUBURN HILLS, Mich.–In response to the government’s measure to enhance the safety of power window switches, Audi of America, Inc. confirm that all its current models in the U.S. come standard with recessed power window switches that require a pulling action to raise the window. In addition, all Audi models, from the TT to the premium Audi A8, are equipped with power windows that have an additional safety feature called “pinch protection” that stops the window from raising and reverses itself if an object, such as a hand, is detected. All Audi models that are equipped with power-operated sunroofs also use “pinch protection,” as a further safety precaution to help protect occupants. While Audi is happy to offer these power window safety features, parents are reminded that children should not be left unattended in a car at anytime. The NHTSA release went on to say: “The regulation will prohibit non-recessed `rocker’ or `toggle’ switches that can be unintentionally activated by a small child playing in a car.” |
