Audi Q4 E-Tron Hailed As the Best Electric SUV
With prices starting at just under $45K, the Q4 e-tron is a competitively priced and good-looking alternative to VW ID.4, but carwow claims that it might be the best electric SUV on sale right now.
Audi’s all-new Q4 e-tron EV has a lot going for it, but carwow’s Mat Watson went a step further in his recent video and proclaimed that the Q4 e-tron might just be the best small electric SUV on sale. Last week, Watson got behind the wheel of Tesla’s flagship sedan to race an Audi RS e-tron GT, and predictably, the carwow presenter lost to Audi’s all-electric contender.
This week, Watson decided to play it safe and ditch the Model S, and instead of a race, the YouTuber offered a detailed review of Audi’s all-new electric-only SUV. There is no denying the fact that the all-new Audi Q4 e-tron is a striking piece of tech. The Q4 e-tron is a definitely major step up from VW’s ID.4 crossover in the premium features department, even though both offerings employ the same MEB vehicle architecture.
As it turns out, Watson agrees with our assessment. “Audi’s are all about the design really, and this is a good-looking car from the rear,” said Watson. He further added, “Overall though, I do think this car is quite a bit better looking than the Volkswagen ID.4, which it shares many of its parts with. That car (VW ID.4) just looks like a blob, whereas this has a bit more about it.”
It was pretty much the same story inside the cabin as well. Audi Q4 e-tron’s interior offers plenty of space, and Watson claims that the battery-powered SUV feels even more spacious than the Audi Q3. The car also comes equipped with a wide range of creature comforts like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as standard.
“The inside of this Q4 is pretty nice, but then Audi always does nice interior designs doesn’t it. I like the shape of the dashboard the way it’s all angular, and there is different kinds of trims to help brighten things up,” said Watson.
The YouTuber also did a good job of pointing out some interesting features of the new Audi Q4 e-tron as part of carwow’s “Five or Nine things” segment, which makes Watson’s latest webisode an interesting watch. After reviewing the video, we find ourselves in complete agreement with Watson’s verdict: “Well, I reckon it’s the best small electric SUV you can buy.”
