The interior of the Audi Q6 e-tron is so special and groundbreaking that it’s getting its very own reveal.

At this point, we know quite a bit about the Audi Q6 e-tron, the latest addition to the automaker’s rapidly expanding all-electric portfolio. This new ride is set to slot in between the Q4 e-tron and Q8 e-tron, and it will ride on the brand new Premium Platform Electric (PPE) architecture set to underpin a large number of future Audi and Porsche EVs as well. However, while the press was able to take a prototype Audi Q6 e-tron for a spin just a few months ago, there is one thing that we haven’t seen yet – the interior of the Audi Q6 e-tron, but that’s set to be revealed soon, according to Wards Auto.

Audi design chief Marc Lichte will give us a tour of the Q6 e-tron’s cabin at the upcoming IAA Mobility 2023 in Munich, Germany, which is set to take place September 5-10. Lichte will show off what promises to be a bit of a preview for the future of Audi interiors, in general, one that’s designed to place its occupants near the center and optimize their digital experience. The digital nature of the car’s E3 electronics architecture opens up a new world of possibilities, it seems, integrating the owner’s personal electronic devices with continuously updating connectivity and infotainment, creating what Audi refers to as a “digital stage.”

Aside from its cutting edge interior, the Audi Q6 e-tron is chock full of other futuristic content, including its 800-volt architecture and next-generation electric motors, which are designed to be quieter, more efficient, and have greater energy density. Output ranges by model, with the regular Q6 e-tron producing 375 horsepower or 395 with Boost mode engaged, while the high-performance SQ6 is slated to generate 482 or 509 horsepower at its peak. The Q6 e-tron is expected to hit 60 mph in under six seconds, with the SQ6 needing less than 4.5 clicks to get there.

The battery pack in the Q6 e-tron is expected to have 93 kWh of capacity, with improved energy density when compared to current units thanks to its prismatic-style lithium-ion cells. In terms of charging, the Q6 e-tron offers up a peak rate of 270 kilowatts, giving its battery the ability to charge from 10 to 80 percent in less than 30 minutes while adding 155 miles of range in around 10 minutes. Range will vary by model, but is expected to top out at around 315 miles using current EPA standards.

Altogether, the new Audi Q6 e-tron is set to usher in the future of all-electric vehicles, making it a critical launch given the fact that the company plans to ditch ICE altogether in favor of EVs in the coming years. Thus, perhaps it’s no surprise that the interior is getting its own, separate reveal, as it also figures to change the trajectory of automotive cabins forever.
