2025 Audi A3 Allstreet Is the Super Cool Baby Wagon America Won’t Get

The 2025 Audi A3 Allstreet seems to be exactly the type of vehicle Americans prefer, but it strangely won’t be coming here.

There was a time – not terribly long ago – when hot hatches and wagons were all the rage here in the U.S., and enthusiasts were more than satisfied with making those types of rides their sole methods of transportation. However, in recent years, things have changed exponentially, with Americans gravitating heavily toward crossovers and SUVs, and away from things like wagons and hot hatches. This is truly a shame, because it means that many automakers have killed off not only those types of vehicles, but also, passenger cars in general, though that isn’t necessarily the case with Audi, at least. Meanwhile, in Europe, car shoppers continue to get some pretty cool stuff that we can’t get – like the brand new 2025 Audi A3 Allstreet.

Here in America, we can’t get the A3 in anything but sedan form, but in Europe, one will soon be able to go out and purchase the 2025 Audi A3 Allstreet, which is joining that particular refreshed lineup. However, it’s a bit hard to define – the A3 Allstreet is basically a wagon or hatchback with four doors, but it also rides a bit higher than regular A3 variants – 0.6 inches – and has crossover-like body cladding than the regular A3, all with an eye toward appealing to our SUV-crazed world.

According to Audi, the A3 Allstreet is, in fact, designed to drive more like an SUV than a passenger car as well, though its raised suspension also provides some additional ground clearance – 1.2 inches more, in fact – and better off-road angles – not that anyone is likely going rock climbing in their wagon. One would think that such features would help make a business case for the Audi A3 Allstreet being sold in the U.S., but sadly, that won’t be the case.

Oddly enough, the A3 Allstreet will be sold in front-wheel-drive configuration only, which somewhat dashes any dreams of taking one out on the trails, but customers do get two powertrain choices, at least – either a turbocharged 1.5-liter inline-four cylinder or 2.0-liter inline-four cylinder turbodiesel, both of which generate the exact same 148 horsepower. The former powerplant can be mated to either a six-speed manual or a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox, while the diesel is only sold with the automatic.

Otherwise, the Audi A3 Allstreet takes quite a bit of inspiration from its larger counterparts – the A4 Allroad and A6 Allroad – albeit in a more on-road-focused effort that’s designed to appeal to those that want a smaller yet still practical vehicle with a little bit of flair. With a price tag of just under $30k, we feel like such a machine would sell quite well in the U.S. – after all, as a whole, we’re obsessed with these types of vehicles – but for now at least, we’ll just have to admire it from across the pond.
