The 2026 Audi RS5 Avant has been spied yet again, giving us another look at the forthcoming high-performance wagon.

In spite of its recent (re)dedication to all-electric vehicles, Audi continues to develop ICE models as well, and we aren’t just talking about regular old mainstream pieces of transportation. Rather, the brand has several high-performance vehicles in the works as well, including the all-new 2026 Audi RS5 Avant – yet another red hot wagon that’s expected to debut for the 2026 model year and replace the RS4 Avant in the lineup. Recently, the 2026 Audi RS5 Avant was spied testing yet again – this time, at the Nurburgring, giving us another sneak peek at what we can expect.

Set to debut a bit after the redesigned A5 arrives later this year, the 2026 Audi RS5 Avant appears to be more evolutionary than revolutionary in terms of exterior styling, though this prototype remains covered in heavy camo. It’s packing a larger grille, along with plenty of air intakes and other aero bits that we’ve come to expect from Audi RS models in general, coupled with a familiar headlight design to boot.

Of course, the RS5 Avant is also sporting wider fenders that give it a muscular stance, plus flush-mounted door handles and a sloping roofline that tapers off as we move to the rear. Out back, there’s a new taillight design as well, plus the requisite dual exhaust. Other details pertaining to this new model remain a bit scant, but it’s expected to ride on the new Premium Platform Combustion (PPC), with some interesting powertrain options, to boot.

Those could include a plug-in hybrid version of the existing twin turbo 2.9-liter V6, which could add some all-electric driving range and power to the mix compared to the standard gas engine of today. That variant produces 444 horsepower and 443 pound-feet of torque, but the addition of an electric motor and battery could ramp up performance in a big way, while also helping Audi inch toward its electrification goals.

In this video from AutoYa, we get a pretty good look at what the 2026 Audi RS5 Avant might look like sans camo, and it pretty much falls in line with expectations. This video also claims that the new hot wagon will generate somewhere around 700 horsepower from its new PHEV combination, which is obviously a massive increase over the existing V6 in that regard. Whether or not that comes to fruition remains to be seen, but we’ll certainly be learning much more about the RS5 Avant as we inch closer to its formal reveal.
