VIDO: Audi RS5 vs Kia Stinger GT vs Audi S5: Battle of Tuned Machines

Both the Audi RS5 and S5 prove to be a good match for this modified Stinger GT, making for some highly entertaining racing action.

Tuning has long given enthusiasts a quick, easy, and affordable way to add significant power to their rides. Thus, it’s no surprise that there are quite a few tuned Audis out there in the world, as that brand’s performance-focused offerings respond incredibly well to a few tweaks here and there. We’re used to seeing these types of rides do battle on the track in numerous videos from the Sam CarLegion YouTube channel, and recently, that included an Audi RS5 vs Kia Stinger GT as well an Audi S5. On the surface, it’s not much of a contest, but there’s a catch.

They’re all modified and tuned.

This pair of luxurious performance sedans are quite different when it comes to what sort of modifications they’ve been treated to, however. Their opponent in this case is a 2022 Kia Stinger GT, which utilizes a twin-turbocharged 3.3-liter V6 that’s been modified with a Lap3 ECU, downpipes, and meth injection, which sends 565 crank horsepower to all four wheels. The Kia weighs around 4,000 pounds, which is pretty heavy.

In the other lane, we have a 2019 Audi RS5 Sportback with a Stage 2 ECU tune and downpipes, which generates an estimated 530 horsepower at the crank from its twin-turbocharged 2.9-liter V6, moving all four wheels and just over 4,000 pounds itself. Finally, this trio is capped off with a 2022 Audi S5, which has a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 with a tune and downpipes, helping it make around 450 horsepower at the crank with a 3,800-pound curb weight.

One might think that this would put the S5 at a bit of a disadvantage, but once the trio hits the tarmac, that isn’t the case at all. In fact, in the first roll race, the black coupe rockets ahead and takes home an easy win while the Kia barely edges out the Audi RS5. In the second Audi RS5 vs Kia Stinger GT vs Audi S5 race, things flip-flop, with the RS5 taking the win, followed by the Stinger GT and S5. However, once the three cars race from a dig, the Kia rockets to a win, leaving the pair of Audis vying for second place.

When the dust settles, the Kia Stinger GT records a best 0-60 time of 3.6 seconds and a quarter-mile of 11.5 clicks, followed by the S5 with a 0-60 of 3.6 seconds and 11.8-second quarter and the RS5 at 4.08 and 12.16 seconds. As we can see in this series of races, however, any of the three is capable of taking home the win depending on circumstance and driver, making for a pretty heated and entertaining battle.
