2007 Audi RS 4

Bought new back in 2007, RS 4 spent most of its life in Colorado, logged 85,000 miles on the 4.2-liter V8 and quattro system.

Do you remember 2007? That year, the first-ever iPhone debuted. Queen Elizabeth II became the oldest-ever reigning British monarch. And the Audi RS 4 was in the middle of its short second generation, begun in 2006, ending in 2008. Based upon the A4’s B7 platform, the United States first got theirs in the 2007 model year.

One of them, a one-owner RS 4, is ready to make its new owner happy on Bring a Trailer. Let’s learn a bit more about this special machine, one of 2,000 such machines brought over to the U.S. between 2007 and 2008.

For most of its life, this Daytona Gray Pearl RS 4 lived in Colorado with the original owner. Back then, it was bought for $73,520 ($93,260.36 in 2021 dollars). Alas, this RS 4 was among the last ever to be sold in the United States. All RS 4s since remain in Europe and other lucky places.

Powering the RS 4 is its 4.2-liter FSI V8, which made 420 horses and 317 lb-ft of torque back in the day. Though a few horses escaped the corral, most still hit the highway via a six-speed manual and the quattro all-wheel drive system. The powertrain’s logged over 85,000 miles since purchase, most of them in Colorado.

Underneath the Daytona Gray resides a silver nappa leather interior, still looking good despite the many thousands of miles. Black carpeting and trim complement the leather, and a Bose sound system brings the best out of your music collection. Not to mention the six-CD changer in the glove box, perfect for holding your Norah Jones, Joss Stone, and Interpol jams.

The entire RS 4 masterpiece is capped off with a set of 19-inch double-spokes, currently living in Michelin Pilot Sport 4S rubber. A new clutch, fresh oil, and carbon cleaning have given the Audi a new pep in its step.

Though enjoying the Arizona sun at the moment, the RS 4 fits in anywhere it goes. Whomever owns it next will be among the lucky few to have such a rare Audi in their garage. One well-cared for, too.
