Supercharged Audi R8 V10 Performance

This glorious-sounding Audi R8 V10 Performance is the perfect example of why people are so passionate about ICE.

The Audi R8 as we know it is going away, expected to perhaps return as an all-electric version of its former self at some point in the future. As such, it’s a sad turn of events for internal combustion fans, particularly as while we know EVs are quick and competent with their own unique set of benefits, they just don’t have the same sound and feel as something like, say, a good old fashioned V10. That passion is on clear display in this recent video showing off a modified Audi R8 V10 Performance from Auditography, too.

Here we have a stunning Arablue Audi R8 V10 Performance, a car that has plenty of soul in stock form, as it is, rolling off the assembly line. This is how supercars used to be made – with big, naturally-aspirated engines that rev to the moon and make some of the most glorious noises one will ever hear, and that sonic glory is on full display in the video below.

In stock form, this 5.2-liter V10  cranks out 562 horsepower and 406 pound-feet of torque, or 602/413 in Quattro spec, but those figures pale in comparison to what’s going on with this Audi R8 V10 Performance. In this case, the owner has added a VFEngineering 8XX supercharger system to the mix, which boosts output by a lot – all the way up to 900 horsepower and 627 pound-feet, in fact, which means that this R8 now goes 0-60 in just 2.4 seconds, completing the quarter-mile in 9.7 clicks.

Belting out glorious V10 noises thanks to a Capristo exhaust, this R8 certainly sounds the part as well, and it looks more aggressive thanks to a body kit consisting of a Capristo Automotive front lip, canards, side skirts, and rear diffuser, plus an AutomotivePassion rear wing, side air inlets, and engine X-brace. Rounding out the package are a set of Lamborghini wheels mounted with a center lock conversion, while KW Suspension V4 coilovers aids in the handling department. The end result of that curated list of parts speaks for itself, and in this case at least, so does its glorious, passionate, ICE powertrain.
