Top 10 Audi Models with the Highest Top Speed

No. 3 (tied): RS e-tron GT – 155.3 mph

Audi RS e-tron GT

Yes, you read that right: there are a handful of Audis tied for third due to them holding the same 155.3-mph top speed. And that’s only the tip of the iceberg. Though the RS version of the e-tron GT is just 3.1-mph faster than the quattro, it still looks better than anything coming out of the Tesla hype machine.

No. 3 (tied): RS 4 Avant – 155.3 mph

Audi RS 4 Avant

The first of the third-place machines to use gasoline, the RS 4 Avant not only carries the groceries, but can get to the store at 155.3 mph. Packing a 2.9-liter V6 good for 450 horses certainly helps.

No. 3 (tied): RS 5 Sportback – 155.3 mph

Audi RS 5 Sportback

Looking for a sleek hatchback sedan? The RS 5 Sportback flows through the air up to 155.3 mph with the same 2.9-liter V6 as the RS 4 Avant, among the others on this part of the podium. That Sonoma Green’s a nice color, too.

No. 3 (tied): RS 6 Avant – 155.3 mph

Audi RS 6 Avant

Same top speed, different engine. This time, a 4.0-liter V8 with 600 horsepower drives all the wheels on the hottest wagon around, the RS 6 Avant. It’s also a mild hybrid machine, meaning you won’t be burning through your bank account while flying down the highway to the next adventure.

No. 3 (tied): RS 7 Sportback – 155.3 mph

Audi RS 7 Sportback

There’s only one way to get any Audi A7, and that’s as a Sportback. The RS 7 Sportback rocks the same 4.0-liter V8 as the RS 6 Avant, yet wears its roof down and long to slip through the wind.

No. 3 (tied): S8 – 155.3 mph

Audi S8

The official ride of Jason Statham, the Audi S8 also has the same 4.0, but its output is just 571 horses. Something tells us there’s an electronic limiter on this part of the podium holding back a lot of the models from really going for it.

No. 3 (tied): RS Q8 – 155.3 mph

Audi RS Q8 Java Green

Even the high-performance Audi crossovers hit a virtual wall at 155.3 mph. We chose the RS Q8 because it’s top-tier of the entire Q line. Aggressive looks, a big V8, a crossover package, not a bad deal at all.

Aubernon wasn't, so she became one, covering fashion in her own way for the next few years.

From there, she's written for: Louisville.com/Louisville Magazine, Insider Louisville, The Voice-Tribune/The Voice, TOPS Louisville, Jeffersontown Magazine, Dispatches Europe, The Truth About Cars, Automotive News, Yahoo Autos, RideApart, Hagerty, and Street Trucks.

Aubernon also served as the editor-in-chief of a short-lived online society publication in Louisville, Kentucky, interned at the city's NPR affiliate, WFPL-FM, and was the de facto publicist-in-residence for a communal art space near the University of Louisville.

Aubernon is a member of the International Motor Press Association, and the Washington Automotive Press Association.
