4. 4.0-Liter Twin-Turbo V8

Audi RS 6 Avant

Audi and Bentley teamed up to develop an aluminum twin-turbo V8. It’s a worthy successor to the 4.2-liter motor and turns the RS 6 Avant into a supercar destroyer. Generating almost 600 horsepower, it propels the RS 6 Avant to 60 mph in just over three seconds. Keeping with the times, it’s also reasonably fuel efficient as well. Technology like “cylinder on demand” or cylinder deactivation and a start/stop system helps it break into the low 20 mpg range.

It’s a gem in other cars too. In the S6 and S7 the 4.0-liter makes “only” 414 horsepower, but it’s more than enough to send those cars to 60 mph in under five seconds.
