B6 T/B Slipped - Replaced but crank is out of TDC - HELP!
My water pump locked up forcing the TB teeth to be chewed off. Eventually, it slipped setting forth the project of replacing the timing belt. Everything went smooth and according to the diy/write ups with one exception - the crank is out time. The cam has marks, but the crank doesnt seem to have them?
How would I get it back into sync with out removing the head? How do I get the crank back to TDC w/o having marks? There is a dimple on the 19mm 12pt crank bolt and what looks like a drip line on the housing? Is that it? What do I do?????

Put the shield back on the botton of the Motor and then take the Main Pulley...
and put it of correctly (don't tighten... there is a tick on the Cover and a Tick on the pulley (one that has two belt spots)
That should get you ligned up, just rotate with a socket till you get to TDC
The dimple on the Crank is to line up the pully on it!

I took the spark plug out of the first cylinder then
light it up and bring them to TDC together...you don't want to spin one without the other (the valves do touch the pistons at some point) obviously and don't want them to be too far apart...but you'll see it all come together eventually... I did the same exact thing. ohh you will need a little scopy thing...or something to shove in there to feel it...like a rubber hose.
