Hey everyone i am new to audi world. Is there any one on here who can tell me if what im hearing is a cam chain tensioner or if it could be something else. when the engine is warm and idling it makes a continuious ticking sound. as soon as i step on the gas and bring RPMs above 1300 it goes away. i had the tensioner looked at and the mechanic said it was fine all i needed was an oil change and a synthetic additive. he said in about 200 miles the ticking should subside. does this sound right to any one thanks a ton in advance!!!

Check your oil level.
The 1.8T motor gets a ticking sound when the oil is low, usually the ticking starts at about a quart low and progressively gets worse as it looses oil through burning it or leaking.
Hope this helps.
