I have a 03 audi A-4 1.8t, I recently changed out the plugs and replaced coil pack #1. Drove car for about thirty miles when it started intermittently misfiring. Decided to check out the coil connector, it was fried, so we went ahead and changed that out and replaced coil pack Again. Went to start it up, car turns but won't start any suggestions. FYI no blown fuses and relays have been tested!!!

similar issues which were quickly resolved after changing the CPS (cam position sensor). After reading many posts, I now understand a bad CPS (or bad connection to it) is likely the culprit leading to no spark.

I picked up a CPS on eBay for <$30. Swapping in the new one took less than 5 minutes with just a shorty philips.

But before throwing money at it, i would suggest hooking up a Vag Com to it and see what codes are thrown. For me, the following code went away after swapping out the CPS:

16727 - Camshaft Position Sensor (G40): Signal too High
P0343 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent

we ran the vag-com it read error p0688 also gave a ecu relay code. ecu relay is good no blown fuses. Could it be the entire ecu unit or still possible the crank sensor.?????? I am getting so frusterated with this car.
