I just dismantled my 1.8 block because it was leaking oil pas the piston rings so i need to bore it out .20 over. Since the engine is completely apart I want to get forged internals and was wondering what the best set up is for the 1.8t I have the aeb model. What type of pistons should i get and what type of connecting rods.

I recommend the 82mm Wiseco pistons and a set of Scat Rods. They have done right by me into the 500Whp range, but if you find you don't have to bore a set of Mahle Motorsport pistons would be even better.

Scats are at the bottom of the list, there are better rods but they also cost more. You will also have to figure out what CR you will want to go with before you can pick a piston.
Most people that are looking for big whp end up going with JE and Pauters, this is the combo I run in my 600+whp A4.

When you say CR do you mean compression ration? I dont know much about that. All the guy at the machine shop told me was that I needed to go .020 with the pistons.

aren't really pushing all that much power.
Actually the cheapest would be IE's but they only make them in a 19mm wrist pin.
