I have a 2001 Audi A4 avant with a 1.8L engine. I have noticed in the last month I have started losing power when in the higher rpm range. I looked under the hood and saw that a hose on the top of the engine is split. I don't know what the hose is for but I will try describe it and hopefully someone can identify it for me so I can order a new one. As I look at the engine, at the top at the end, a metal pipe comes out where it is connected to the hose. The hose is kind of like a T with a 90degree turn at the end that shoots down. Where the T goes to the left, it is connected to a black pipe that runs to the left then back to the front of the engine and then there is a round thing at the end.
I know, crazy description but does anyone know what I am on about???
Thanks, kes

Um,
I don't know from the description - are you talking about the hoses below the intake? Is it above the intake? A good place to start might be ECS tuning - go to their engine section and start looking through their intake parts - see if you can see the part there?
Or, since it's been 13 days, maybe you fixed this already...good luck.
