Default Larger MAF housing for 1.8T AEB

I am at the limit of the stock MAF reading capability.
I bought a VR6 MAF in hope to install it (and adjust fueling).

Looks like I cannot swap the A4 sensor itself into the VR6 housing?

Did I get the wrong housing?

If yes: which VR6 do I need for the swap?

If no: how can I get the A4 sensor into the VR6 housing?

Or can I use the VR6 housing AND sensor?

Even if you could just swap in the sensor, the calibration would be wrong. You need to re-tune for a different maf for optimal results. How do you know you are at the limit? Are you pegging the sensor? (not doubting, just curious)

Obviously, fuel/air needs to be taken care of.
Limit: I am logging 193 g/sec and have the feeling the ECU is 'cutting in'. No has given a FIRM (believable) number or told me how to log the MAF voltage. But obviously 5V is the theoretical max, and I was told (forums) that this is definitely at the limit (or 'pegged').

Only read about the VR6 housing swap, so figured take the current sensor and put it in the larger VR6 (aside from tuning issues; this is a seperate problem). But even THAT does not seem to work (at least with the VR6 housing I have). Unless butchering the housing, epoxy and stuff (not my cup of tea) is the only way?

Is there a way to find out IF I am at the MAF limit?

Only/best would be to read the actual voltage from the MAF (the g/sec log may be influenced by the Giac tune MAF table, or?)

Question: what is the most practical/easiest way to get the MAF voltage logged on the AEB?
