I have an 04 A4 1.8 I just ran into a problem that feels like misfiring. It only occurs under a heavy load while i have my chip on. The CEL will flash for approx 15 sec then go out. If i misfire a few more times it will flash then stay on for a few days then go away. i turned my chip off so i dont mess anything up and it runs just fine under any load, throughout the RPM range etc..... im so confused. i need some help here thanks

FYI i changed the spark plugs and got a new DV to try and solve this and neither worked.

Had the same problem with my 1.8 and it turned out to be a failing coil pack. Pulling the codes should indicate a misfire and which bank it's on.
