Default Re: Makes sense, because the studs shouldn't leak oil unless the head is cracked.

Ok Put the exhaust back together, including the turbo.
The smoke seams to have stopped at the front of the engine, I also changed the check valve for the evap canister. Its driving a million times better.. I still have the power loss problem but it's like it cut s out and then comes back. SO 1st gear is fine 2nd gear going up hill coughs a little and then seems to be ok any guesses I will go through all my vacuum pipes tomorrow and make sure they are on properly and other ideas. Oh and the idle is much better to
Thanks once again you guys are amazing

Default Check the L-Hose that come off by the throttle body, known to leak (vacuum)

Also reply in the subject line, makes it easier to use this forum format. Thanks!

Default I found a leak from the hose where the V101 connector (29 in Pic) pipe goes in the air cleaner

Could this be my problem? It is slightly melted and air is definitely leaking from there

Default I took it for a drive and still running sick I really feel that my timing is out..

Remember I did change the tensioner. I made sure that i counted the links and had 16 between the cams. I had also marked it and put it back where it was.
It just coughs as I'm going up hill and only when it gets hot and it has no energy. If they were out would it come out when I had the test done on it.
Ok my cam does line up with my crank they are spot on
I'm lost

Default Fix your vac leaks first.

Then we can start looking at other stuff. You should invest in a vag-com as well. Makes little things like this much easier to deal with.

https://forums.audiworld.com/a4/msgs/1659806.phtml

cam was spot on the marking, So I took them off again but can not line them up as the lifters seem to be getting in the way. What am I doing wrong?
