Putting in a new Turbo. How do you prime it with oil so it doesn't burn up on startup???

this will pump oil into the turbo while not letting the engine fire/start up, that is what is recommended from the install instructions on the AWE KO4 kit before you run the engine for the first time after installing the turbo kit.

when I did my KO4 install, I was running a stock ECU to be able to drive my car while I got my chipped ECU upgraded to the KO4 program. So I had to swap the ECU's anyways.
Otherwise, another suggestion by the mechanic that installed my KO4 kit is to pull one spark plug and crank the engine, that'll do the same thing prime the turbo with oil and not fire up the engine.

As long as the turbo had lube in it from the factory, then just start the motor and let it idle like you should after changing the oil. The turbo doesn't spin much at idle. You want to prime new motors unless you were generous with the assembly lube, but I have never heard of priming a new turbo. I never did it, and I have never seen anyone else do it.
Turbos are not bathed in oil, it all runs out of the turbo when the engine is off anyway.

crank engine again 2-3 times for 5-15 seconds at a time, this will pressureize the system without starting the engine. this is the way its been done in many writeups and by every mechanic here at work.
its what i did.
