Rad Hose replacement

Replacing upper rad hose and wondering how much fluid is going to run out and do I just throw the hose on and let it rock or will I have to bleed it out somehow. Sorry noob

it will get most of the air out of the system due to gravity. after doing this where it doesn't seem to drop the coolant level, then start the car and allow the engine to warm up.
the coolant should drop again and then you need to fill again.

Don't drain any coolant 1st.Release the pressure in the cooling system by opening the coolant resevoir and then closing it. Take off the old hose and put the new one on ( a little vasoline on the connecting pieces aids re-installation ). Top off the resevoir. Drive the car untill it gets up to operating temp, leave the engine running and open the hood and wait foe the electric fan to run ( now the t-stat is flowing ). If the level in the resevoir has dropped you should be able to open it without it exploding on your face but cover it with a rag just in case.
