Default Rebuilt Engine/Timing Belt troubles

I just had my 98.5 AEB rebuilt due to tb tensioner failure. After reinstalling the rebuilt engine and firing, it was evident that the engine was not properly timed, retarded to be exact.

Upon further inspection, I discovered that the cam pulley was installed backwards! Thus the reason for it being retarded by 2.5 teeth. Herein lies the dilemma...I have yet to hear back from the shop who did the work as to see what they will do about their mess up. I was wondering if it would be safe to "reuse" the tensioner after bleeding it off. I wanted to avoid removing the front end, but I wasn't sure if it would be a wise idea to reuse the tensioner after bleeding it off since that is what happened last time (I bought the car with the broken tensioner for $900 after the previous owner was quoted $5000 for repairs).

Sooo, should I bleed off the tensioner and "reuse" it, or just be safe and replace it? I am still waiting to hear back from the shop so that will affect my decision I'm sure.

Thanks for your input!
