S3 1.8T Sluggish
Hi folks. I am having a problem with my 1999 Audi S3. Maybe someone might have some advice?
I got the car checked for air leaks using a smoke test a few weeks ago. All leaks were fixed. I picked the car up and it drove amazing.
It pulled really strong from about 2.5k revs all the way up.
Then after about 4 days it went back to be sluggish. So it takes the turbo a hell of a lot longer to spool up now. Which makes it feel really sluggish.
Another problem is that when are in 1st gear and take your foot off the gas the engine is really rough. Instead of rolling smoothly in kind of jumps. In higher gears, when you take your foot off the gas you can feel resistance - in that it is sort of pulling back rather than rolling smoothly.
I've created a thread here with some VAG-COM logs https://www.audiworld.com/forums/sho...php?p=24204805
I've no faults showing up in VAG-COM.
I got the car smoked tested again for air leaks.
I got the throttle body realligned again and any learned values wiped.
But it is still not back to how it was. Any suggestions?
I'm at a loss and my mechanic who knows VAG's quite well isn't sure of what else it could be.
So it seems I am just left with replacing parts on a trial and error basis. Things like
1) MAF
2) N75
3) Diverter Value
4) Coolant temperature sensor
Anything else? Any advice appreciated!
Cheers.
