Default So, I've got a weird one for you guys...

I've got a friend of a friend (seriously) who has an Audi 90 with a 98 A4 1.8T engine it in. He now wants to put a 6-spd tranny in it? Will this work, and if so which tranny does he need from which model A4 (late B5 or B6)?

Default Absolutely have one in my car. Get all linkage and straight up bolt on

May miss a bell housing bolt or 2 but I have run 420whp thru it at 6000rpm launches w/no problems other than walking the rear diff bolts out. Red loctite fixes that. If you are running big hp on a track or drag/anything other than a dyno queen/ then it is best tranny you can get. A 5k$ price is hard, but I already had some. Also, a 96.5 URS4 5 speed will do a lot of improvement, not quite as strong, but better than s4 trannys from my limited exp. with them. I have a friend running one on a 500whp car now A4.

Default thought so, since it's what dahlback suggests for their setup

which is what you're running, right? the dalhback 420?

Default I have been running a rs2 clutch for 9 yrs in 2 diff. cars. I run it because it is strongest piece..

I had not even heard of DB then. You are very mistaken when you think I like everything DB sells or advocates. I used his stuff because it was the most powerful available without going standalone. A lot of the parts on the car were done by Tim and Sammy and I and have nothing to do w/DB. I use those parts I see as best of breed and when from other than DB then they go on my car. He is only tuner who offers 400+ hp sw thru a dealer. I also built my own engine and none of the components are DB sourced or even the same mfg., or even a slightly similar block. So your implication that I only use things that Hans blesses is absolutely wrong. I will soon tune the car using 034efi stage2c and fully expect it to outperform any of the chips anyone makes. All I say is he has the best chip you can buy off the shelf if you want 400hp or more. And from my experience they always give more than advertised, my car got 420whp on a 420 crank hp chip.

Bark at someone else

Default wtf man? I wasn't implying anything!

I knew someone on here was running a DB420 setup, but wasn't sure if it was you.

Sounds like you've got some other issues brewing, so I'll leave you be.

That, or you're just a complete and total jackass, which is perfectly reasonable given your way-overboard response.

Default No sorry, just a reaction from past snipes from others.

People on the list think I work for DB or something. I have received so many posts suggesting I am 4 anything DB, I reacted inappropriately. In fact I am anything big power. The reason I use the rs2's is a strength issue. You can make the rs6 tip stronger for about 8000$, but I cant figure out how to fool the computers. Altho a tip would be nice with good shifting.
Sorry abt barking, it is hard to recognize genuine inquiries on this forum.
