starter motor squeal (from A4 forum)

The problem I'm having is an intermittent squeal from the starter motor that occurs in the wind-down once the engine is running. It doesn't happen all the time and does not appear to be temperature related--seems flakier like it's electrical, and since I have a 2002 model which is an electrical nightmare anyway you can see why I might conclude this.
Anyway, any thoughts on why the motor would do this? Anything I might be able to do myself or better to just take it in to the shop?
