i am pretty sure that is the issue with my car. I have a revo tuned gtrs setup and i can not pull more than 5-9pounds of boost. the exhaust note is very loud and the power is non existant. I get going and floor the car and it will go nowhere and then all of a sudden when i get to 6k the power comes back. i have not had the chance to run the vag on it and will prob not be able to do till this weekend. i am also not getting any cel. thoughts? thanks1

small boost leak is entirely possible. enough to throw ur fuel trims into a condition in which the ECU is getting you into soft limp (but just barely).
here is how the ECU fueling works...
say you have a little bit of a leak and you are running a tad rich...the ECU can adjust fueling + or - 25% before a code is set off (assuming no other issues)...ad does so actively. in VAG-COM, one can view what the ECU trims are in block 032, although these #s are rolling averages attained at part-throttle cruising. if you see a correction of + or - 16-18%, there is a VERY good chance the ECU is seeing a spike periodically at 25%, and hence it will go into soft-limp without codes necesarilly being thrown. moreover, the ECU will remove soft-limp automatically after a few cycles of the fueling coming back into acceptable trim...again without any codes being stored.
the point here is that a small leak (boost or vac in fact) can cause these symptoms without nary a code being thrown or stored...only logging the car will tell....
