Default I've pulled well over 100 1.8t heads after they lost their belts

and I have not seen one single one snap a valve.. Even ones going 100mph when the belt went.

Sure it can happen but its very far from common on these motors.

I do agree at later comments that the only way to tell is to pull the head.

I always, when doing jobs at my shop not the dealer where they just put heads on, do all the exhaust valves and the center intake valves along with all of the lifters.. Even if they look like there was no damage they usualy are bent a hair.

Outer intake valves I have never seen hit.
