Ithink that if you are worried about it, change it, there are kits that include everything and it is not a bad job if you are an okay tech, should take you about four hours. kit is less than $200 i think.

because its not the belt that usually fails...it is the timing belt tensioner. if that happens and your belt skips a tooth or two, expect that your repair bill will be desasterous.
these are "interference" motors...which means that if timing is even a little bit off, the pistons and vlaves will shake hands...(this is BAD BAD BAD BAD)...and it will cost you dearly in terms of $$ and time.
so in short....have that service performed. be sure the folloeing at a MINIMUM are changed:
timing belt
timing belt tensioner
accessory belt
accessory belt tensioner
water pump (with a metal impeller unit).

The parts cost about $350. Labor can vary depending where you take the car. I was quoted $2000 at dealer and between $650-$900 at independent performane places.
