Ok Smog failed because the computer is seeing the Check Engine light as not operative...
It is definitely working so any suggestions? I disconnected the battery and will try again tomorrow. I called Audi and they told me that it should have passed and that maybe I have to drive it more for the computer to recognize the used instrument cluster I have done over 100 miles since they changed it over for me. I have run a vag on it as well as my scan tool and no errors at all. Failing this I think I need a new ECU. Hopefully taking the battery of would fix it. Also what oil is the best to use for this car (1.8T AMB Motor). I have been told synthetic 5-40W but it has done quite a few miles and I really want the best possible for it. Thanks again

M1 0w-40 or M1 5w-40 TDT (turbo diesel truck) both fully synthetic.
As far as the cluster, resetting the ECU will help but most smog tests require their to be ~2 weeks of stored data on the ECU, so you may get rescheduled again...
I ran 0w-40 on my stock turbo. 5w-30 in the winter. All synthetic. Now I run 5w-40 year round on the big turbo.

What you asking for?
The knock sensor is located on the block under the intake manifold iirc.
The channel to view it on Vag-Com i forget, but if you scroll through the channels one at a time, you will find it. channell 11 and 13 pop out in my head.
