Default What else should I do with timing belt and waterpump

Hey guys,

I'm gonna be doing my timing belt (toothed belt), tb tensioner, tb pulley, ribbed belts, water pump, and thermostat next weekend.

I'm interested in doing everything I can while I have the front end ripped of. So I am also planning on doing the valve cover gasket as well.

Heck since I have that off why not the gasket on the cam tensioner. I am aware that there is a half moon gasket that needs to be replaced there, is that the only part replaced in the cam tensioner area? Should I even change it? I've read alot of forums about the cam tensioner gasket, but I'm not sure if it effects my 01.5 A4 B5 AWM 1.8T Quattro as I don't hear the ticking sound that everyone talks about. I checked my Bentley manual and there is the half moon gasket and plastic peice above that with the came tensioner on all of that. So what exactly gets replaced in the cam tensioner job?

Is there anything else I should replace or look at since everything is gonna be tore up?

Next post I will post some pics of the bentley manual and engine.

-Best

BTW - Just hit 100k miles yesterday. She still runs really good. Original everything including TB and WP.
