Hey everybody,
I recently changed my engine oil and once i did that I started hearing a weird noise. When the engine is cold and when I start up the car it makes a clicking sound for about 1.5 seconds. I checked to see for loose skid plates or a dropped screw but I found nothing. Any ideas? Thanks.

Don't take it to the bank because I'm not sure about the head internals on these cars, I've only done head work on older ones, but it sounds typical of a hydraulic lifter issue. Clicking sound for a short time would be the short duration until the oil pressure is built up. Did you use a lighter oil perhaps?
Like I said, don't rip me apart if I'm wrong, it's more of a general automotive assumption than an Audi specific one.

what oil filter did you use. Cheap filters, Especially Economy line parts store filters, Fram filters. Have really poor anti drain back valves and oil drains from the filter and there is momentary loss of oil pressure on cold start. The timing chain tensioner not pumping up is causing the racket. Try a good quality filter, like Wix Gold, Or Bosch, or MANN.
