Default "short Block" differences between the 12 valve and the 30 valve?

Seems the throw and bore are the same, can anyone tell me whether there are any physical differences in the block face itself?

*have a lead on a long block and want to swap the bottom end for my 30 valve's worn out bottom end.

Default ETKA lists different P/Ns for the short block, so they are probably different, but can't be sure...

w/o inspecting both. Also, the differences may not be significant, so you could still swap them.

Default dealer put the "wrong" short block in my 12v...

The dealer put a 30v shortblock with my 12v heads when rebuilt my engine under warranty.

The engine ran great untill you stepped on the gas more than 1/4 throttle! It then pinged like hell!

It pinged so bad you couldn't drive up a hill without it sounding like a death rattle.

They had to swap out the shortblock with about 400 miles(a $4000 mistake)!
