Default 02 sensors, Wiring Harness, ECU... pulling hair out --->

Ok I need some advice on what could possibly be wrong. I'm getting tired of fixing one thing and having two more break. Here's the story up to today. I appologize in advance for the children's book.

Two weeks ago: Driving around, car starts running like a model A Ford while stopped at a light. Top speed was about 20mph and it ran like %^@*. Then after about 30 seconds, everything was normal... like nothing happened.

Two days later: A good guy from the Portland Audi Club cam out and VAG'd the car. 2nd sensor, 2nd bank - Cyl 1 missfire - Cyl 5 missfire.

One week later: Finally got my new 02 sensor and got it installed after many hours of swearing and bloody knuckles. Started her up and it was like a ray of light from God. It idled at exactly 1100rpm, no hunting, no stalling... perfect.

Too good to be true, right?
Right!

After replacing the 02 sensor: Ran through the diagnostics in the Bentley manual for the 02 sensors. With the new sensor installed, still didn't get a reading from the sensor. Tested the 2nd sensor, first bank... no signal either. Tested the line from the sensor plug to the ECU. No problems. Tested ECU plug... problem. ECU not registering on the black plug (1996 12V V6 Hitachi) in between the first black plug and the red plug.

Yesterday: Drove to Matrix hoping that resetting the ECU would fix everything. VAG'd at Matrix... 2nd sensor, 1st bank high voltage - Cyl 1 missfire - Cyl 2 missfire - Cyl 3 missfire - Cyl 5 missfire - Random missfire.

So with what I found and what Matrix pulled I'm thinking my ECU has gone **** up... &$#^%&%!!!!!!!!!!!

So I need advice. Does this sound like the ECU is on it's way out? What about the engine harness? What are my options for ECU? I'm so ticked off at my car right now :-( I'm going to go grab a beer on lunch. I'll check back in in about 1.5 hours.

TIA!!!
