Default I believe the recommended interval is 7500miles but now that my car is a little older I change mine

every 5k. Now this does depend on whether you use synthetic or not. If you use dino, every 3k.

However, I did do an oil analysis at Blackstone after a 5k oil change and they said the oil was fine and I should be able to go longer if I wanted.

Default Re: depending on your driving.....

If you do all city-like driving (slow moving and constand accel and stops) then i would say around 4.5k or less, depending on the thickness of the oil.. if all highway then 8k on synthetic only, dont try that on regular oil.

I have done 10k on synthetic on highway and the oil was very clean at change, but i wouldnt suggest it becasue even if it was clean it still breaks down.

also, keep in mind the weight of the oil. Thicker oil tends to work much better when doing longer trips. 10w-30 is good for city-like driving and cold weather. I have 15w50 Mobile1 synth for the summers because of the heat the engine generates.

It was merely thoughts and he can take it how ever he wants. I'm not going to attempt to convince someone they SHOULD do this.

Default 3K interval is better than 7.5K (veg oil concept)

You can even change your oil at 15K, though it is not recommended.

Changing your oil everyday is even better, but there is no one in the world would do that (it costs time and $$$).

From the great oil debate earlier in this forum, I came to think that car oil has the concept with the vegetable oil.

Your chicken = your engine. If old dirty veg. oil (veg. oil that has been used so many times) is used, the chicken will be not as good as if I use fresh oil (taste & appearance).

So, IMHO less mileage interval will be better for your engine.
