Default 1993 90CS, - Alternate belt routing, (12v.org down), Sent longer belt.

The front belt, (alternator, etc belt) that I ordered from autohauzaz is longer than the one coming off the car. I thought there was a routing diagram on 12v.org, but that site is not coming up.

I rather avoid packaging, going to ups, and sending the belt back. Anyone know if there is some alternate routing, that perhaps this belt is good for, and if so a diagram or picture for that routing.

Default Yes, there are multiple routings....

This should help...note that "G" is an idle roller and can be removed.

Default Re: Thanks, mine is like the R.H bottom view, without roller, and the

belt they sent must be for the longer path with the roller idler pictured in R.H. top.

Thanks

Default short belt = item No. 6PK1905; long belt = 6PK2257, note about For models with production date fr

This is intended as a heads up, for knowing which belt to buy, and save yourself from doing the work twice, and the hassle of returning the wrong belt.

At the online dealer I bought from, they have a note that the shorter belt is for " For models with production date from 10/1993. 1 per car." My car is the earlier production date group, but it has the later shorter belt.

Please, visually check your car if you have the shorter routing before ordering this belt.

Default That's not entirely correct...

For example, my 100 with build date 2/94 had the longer belt until I got the upgraded kit...best way to tell is look at the belt, usually has the length written on it somewhere...

Default Correct. No purpose as far as I can tell...

Possibly to increase the area of belt gripping the crank pulley...
