here are the readings that i got from the coil
3-5=12.86
2-4=12.05
1-6=11.84
good?bed?fugly?
its almost 2am and i'm going to sleep...
what the hell is wrong with this stupid caR?!
p.s. just remembered something, i do not have a vacuum tank, i have the line caped off. dose that make a huge difference?

ok, there were like 3 posts here that just vanished... wtf?
tested resistance in the coil
3-5=12.86
2-4=12.05
1-6=11.84
good? bed? ugly?
p.s. i just remembered something, i'm lacking a vacuum tank and i have that line caped off, will that make a difference?

that in turn simultaneously deletes ALL responses to his post. That of course deleted the Bentley procedure for testing coils and primary resistance I posted for you.
Basically you're good coil-wise as the Bentley spec is that each coil must register resistance between 9 and 14k Ohms at each coil which you've now done.
The other test I mentioned in that post is one that moribundman mentioned below and has to do with the "primary resistance" between the coils and the POS (power output stage) and involves testing the 3-wire harness that runs from the POS to the coils. Those leads should show resistance between .5-1.0 Ohms. If out of range either way that 3-wire harness lead should be replaced or you risk a similar failure to what moribundman experienced below. Test is simple and only involves using a multimeter at opposite ends of terminal #1, 2 and 3 for resistance.

ok, i work for a VW dealer as a parts consultant. I HAVE NOT HEARD OF ANYONE ever spraying water on a coil.
