In the archives I have discovered several possibilies including a hole in the firewall that was not sealed correctly or a sunroof drain. Does anyone have any further info this? Where would the sunroof drain be routed in the cabin? Thanks in advance!

take a look at the plenum chamber (the area between the secondary and primary firewall). There are two drain valves that get easily clogged. One is under the brake booster, the other one is under the battery. If water can't drain fast enough out of the plenum, water may seep through poorly sealed firewall openings.

Also check if the ECU is fastened correctly. People have been getting water into the cabin from there, too.

As RKA indicated a few days ago, wet carpets behind the front seats don't necessarily mean the water came from the roof or rear of the car, because the carpet has a plastic lining, and especially if the car is parked on an incline the front carpet may stay dry.

the lower front door hinges. You clean them from above.

The rear drain hoses run inside the D-pillar and end behind the rear bumper. You have to take the bumper off to clean them from below.

Thanks, I think it is coming from the front because the front carpet was damp.
