Default Some of the failed turbos I've seen form 2000 S4s were amazing

I can't even explain it, it looked like the housing had been taken apart and the blades smashes to bits with a hammer and then remounted. They were like melted together. It seemed amazing that they could get so destroyed as to me the turbo should have jammed with 1/50th of the damage on those blades.

Default amazing failures

I think what's amazing is how far people will drive once their car starts making worrying noises and driving like crap.

Someone drove their BM into a tree in the parking lot of the office here a few months ago ... they said the brakes failed. Upon closer inspection, the brakes failed because the front brake pads had worn down ... all the way down ... *through the backing* ... and the pistons on one of the front brakes popped out. He said "I guess that explains all the brown dust on the wheels."

Guess so. Also explained the big puddle of brake fluid next to the gate in front.

*sigh*
