Default Apparently "heated O2 sensor" means "HEATED O2 sensor".

I committed a folly. I hooked up my postcat O2's just to get my CEL to go off. I planned on installing them permanently (in the exhaust pipe) next weekend after I get my exhaust done. Well, today I get to work and I notice a buning plastic smell through my air vent plus my CEL came on. "Voltage too low, air leak" on both my postcat sensors. Damn. I open the hood and realized the problem. I left the plastic caps on the new O2's to keep them protected. Bad idea, they melted all over the ends of both O2's. I was sitting at my desk for 15 minutes picking the plastic out of the holes with a push pin (damn those things were HOT). I certainly hope these things are ruined. :-(

Moral of the story, don't do that!

Default are you gonna have those headers popped in with the exhaust?

or is that for down the road still once the heads are P&P'd

And I think the 02 sensors will be ok... at least I hope too... for your sake You can buy another set and then return these saying they didn't work =P That's kinda crooked though and only a person of low morals would probably do it... not that I would know from experience or anything to that extent

Default No, headers aren't going in for awhile but while I have the car apart next weekend

I am going to take a good look at how hard they will be to install myself.

Default Genious!

;-p Word of caution: blasting caps really do cause a blast, so don't chew on one. Yes, a few people have done it........once.
