Default JWG...this is offpost but drop me an email, I'd like to see some of your mods firsthand....

email me at: islingtonboy@hotmail.com
We can cross paths in L.A. some day, I'm looking to enlarge my throttle body and other Mance mods, just want to get some feedback from you.
Thanks

Is it possibly our winter Ca. gas? I get some soot on my tailpipe this time of year and my mpg drops

Default This year I didn't notice the drop in gas mileage I felt in previous years

Who needs winter gas at 50-60 degrees anyway? :-P

I'm not even sure what they blend in the gas here now. MTBE is out, I think, and ethanol is extremly clean-burning, although gas mileage dropped ca 30% with it.

Default your engine is running cold, you mean....

the temp needle is not going up to the thick line in the middle. if it doesnt that means you need a new thermostat just like i need it right now. yes my engine is running cold too. maybe due to milage on my 12V which is 190k already. rings on the pistons apply very little pressure on the cylinder walls!!!! well i know that sounds odd but it is kind of true. anyways lets not get into these subjects. As i mentioned at the top, stock open bad thermostat is the major reason of a cold running engine. i am gonna be changing it this weekend. the colder the engine runs the more carbon deposits you will have in your combustion chambers and on your valves. right or not?

Default I had replaced mine this past summer because the car would hold rich at idle...

seems to have done the trick. It's a cheap fix at $10+ shipping from autohaus

Default I changed the ECT 2 years ago, so I'm figuring it's not that. My O2 sensors are OEM...

with 145k on them. I did get a lean code when I ran low on gas last month. My mpg is around 11 right now.
