Default Bulldozer degreaser...I'll try one more time...

This stuff is nothing short of amazing for cleaning engine parts, but the minimum order is 7 gallons, or $153 + shipping.

I can't afford to keep all 7, so I'm looking for some people to "go in" on an order with me and take some of it off my hands. I already have one gallon "sold", but I can't keep more than three or four, so there are 2-3 gallons up for grabs.

If you're planning on Mance's IM/Head workshops this is what you need. Email me if interested!

Default If ya wanna try something that's 98% as good (I know because I introduced Bulldozer to the forum)...

is priced a LOT cheaper and "may" be easier to find locally try Zep Heavy Duty Purple degreaser.

It can usually be ordered thru NAPA and or direct if you live in a metro area that handles and services Zep parts washers. Usually only availble in 5 gal containers but less than $40 and makes up to 32 gallons diluted. Same alkaline-based (think "lye" not acid) solvent as Bulldozer.

It's the best alternative I've found to Arrow/Magnolia Bulldozer. Easier to source, cheaper by a lot and very near as good as Bulldozer when diluted 1:1.

Zep HD Purple degreaser

Default Yep, identical to Bulldozer! (the slipperiness is lye) but all this type cleaner "should" be used..

for soaking parts 2-3 days undiluted in containers with lids and only sprayed or wiped on when diluted and with gloves... NEVER bare skin. Or simply read/follow directions before using.

Basically the same active ingredient as "Easy-Off" and other oven cleaners but a LOT less expensive! Easy-Off will even remove anodizing from aluminum!!

BTW that "slipperiness" you feel is the product dissolving oils and skin on your hands. Then 4-5 hours later your hands are TOTALLY dried out and hurt as the skin has no resiliancy and cracks form at EVERY wrinkle when you clinch/unclinch your hands. Thats a ROUGH 48-72 hours getting back to normal!! BTDT!!

Default haha...read the directions!?! ;p...yea we would just spary on hose off but some was...

bound to get on your skin from either the spray bottle, or residual on the car. Mehh i have done enough chem labs and other things that probably have out weighed the purple stuff

Default hmm...we have enough people now to do the bulldozer, is it worth it?

$153+shipping ($20? $25?) = ~180 / 7 = $25/gallon

But there will have to be another shipping charge on top of that given that I will ship everyone their individual packages after receiving the big momma.

As long as everyone who emailed me is 100% committed, I'll order it ASAP.

Myself - 2
Doug Wells - 1
Andre Perron - 1
Eric Alexander - 2
Jonathan ? - 1

I will shoot you guys an email here shortly.

Default i got a bottle of this from costco ..

its proby not anywhere near as good as the zep or bulldozer on the im parts but on tools or spills in the garage floor countertops oven tops this stuff works great.. also on grease traps.. i just let the stove vent parts soak overnight they were quite sticky to the touch and regular soap would just sort of gum it up but i let it soak and it was almost vannished from the parts. a quike wipe and it was all gone ..

http://www.oileater.com/</a

Default i know exactly what your talking about ..

as for the hands.. grout will do the same thing since its an aklaine and with all the grouting i did last weekend with no gloves my hands were almost bleeding from every crack ... today they are finally better..last time i grouted i wore gloves but this time i had run out and didnt want to make another trip to Home Desperate that day.. I didnt realize why your hand feels slippery from the degreaser. but felt the hurt later i have more gloves now
