It make metallic wobble/whirl that sounds like a.. I cant think of anything! but its more prominent when the engine is cold and it does not get louder when I turn the wheel. I tried to figure it out by listening with a stethoscope and got loud noises from four belt driven acc, A/C, Power Steering, Water Pump and alternator. I can't tell if the sounds are normal or abnormal.
Reasons why I don't think its the water pump.. it was done along with the timing belt at 90K and I now have 164k. Would it go out that quickly?
So now I'm left with the other three and any of them could have worn/shot bearings.. Maybe I could record a sound clip? Or does anyone have a sound clip of what a healthy 1996 12v should sound like?
Any input would be great.
Also a trusted mechanic Near Williamsport/ State College/ Johnstown/ Harrisburg PA?

you may want to pull the timing belt cover off and listen to the roller, tensioner, and water pump with your stethescope, too.
If it disappears then you've narrowed it down to a few possibilities.
