Wondering what the verdict is on castrol GTX 10W-30 oil for the 12v?

Seriously, use an ACEA A3 rated oil. Or simply stick with what Audi wants you to use:

VW 500.00
VW 502.00

And some of the other VW specs work fine, too, but I'm too tired to post them daily! :-P

PS: Yeah, yeah, my grandpa smoked, drank, was sex-addicted and lived to be 98, too. ;-)

The Canadian site you refer to is for the SL oil, not the SM that is out now - check the US site. ;-)

I do not run synthetic nor would I like to start...I would like to find a oil that is a resoniable price and common/avaible

so I am confused..does this oil meet the A1 standard or does it not?

Thanks for the picture. The red lettering on the bottle indicates that the oil is an SM GF-4 oil, although the API doughnut says SL. These "transition" bottles are normal, since SM is fairly new. Also, there is no mention of ACEA A1.

ok so it is no good....are all mobil 1 brands a synthetic? or is there dino oil mobil 1?

Mobil makes regular oils too, Mobil 1 is synthetic
