Default Cheaper 12V breather hoses through VW?

UrS4 told me that it might be possible to buy new breather hoses cheaper though VW dealers than Audi. Is this true? If so does anyone have a part number? I have a 1995 90Q with the AFC engine.

I run SCCA Solo II autocross and thus can't use his hose mod as they are very picky about things like that. The Audi dealer wants a lot for them and before I buy used hoses I thought I'd look at alternatives. Thanks!

Phone a VW dealer, ask then to "cross-referance" the Audi number? ;O)

Default On 8-20-03 Brians12V said he paid $15 ea and Missle Man paid $25 ea

I listed them then at far higher prices but these were the two posts that responded saying they got them for MUCH cheaper. So the deals are definately out there.

Don't know why the prices Bryan just listed is four times higher today than he paid or "thought" they cost for one of those hoses in August but hopefully he'll respond/explain. I know he works at a dealership but even employee discounts can't be 75% below list price. That's GOT to be less than dealer cost if $60 is suggested list price.

So don't shoot me I'm just the messenger, passing along what others have posted here. ;-)

Link to post on 8/20/03

Default Yeah, there are better deals out there...

I had gotten mine from an aftermarket parts supplier. At the time, I didnt check the list on both hoses (thus me later finding out that the left side is outreagous).

Dont ask me why, I think its the stupidest thing in the world that one side is twice the price of the other side and that they are about equal in length...

What I may be able to to is check the other cars, 30v, AHA cars and see if theres a cheaper part that can be used for the left.

Couldnt something simple like rubber be used?

Default "twice the price"??? Try THREE times the price!!! S'why I'm scrambling to get...

my hands on as many old/cracked lines as I can so I can make new hose assemblies with rubber center sections and stock end-connectors.

Default Has to be stock hoses unfortunately

Since I race SCCA Solo II autocross and they are **** about using any non-stock part I'm pretty much stuck with using the OEM hoses. What aftermarket supplier did you get the hoses from? Are they exactly the same as stock? Which engine do you have? I have the AFC engine (late 1995).
