BTW - I just checked to see if I can switch from defrost to floor to dash and then all three
and everything is working fine. I checked for the code again after I confirmed that nothing was wrong and I still got the code. What's going on?

I believe that code is the temp regulator flap - sporadic block.
I dealt with that. At first it was indeed sporadic -- AC instead of head or vice versa and if I played around with the controls it would fix itself. Got worse over the next month.
I had it replaced.

According to the tech article, it is specifically called the "air flow flap." is it still the same
as the temp regulator flap? You said you had it replaced - meaning the flap repaced or the control unit?
