I thought I'd document this on the site since there's not here much for the 00537 & 00554 codes.
I fixed a no-start condition (engine would crank, but not catch) on my '94 Cab (12v v6) that was throwing a 00515 code by replacing the $85 hall sensor on the back of the driver-side head. This worked great.
But then, though it was running fine, I immediately got a CEL and 00537 and 00554 vag-com codes. It turns out I forgot to reconnect one of the breather hoses on the back of the valve covers. With it reconnected, there's no 00544 code.
I thought it also fixed the CEL and 00537, but these returned after a bit. Time to start looking at the 02 sensors.
I'm using one of those simple $35.99 hong-kong ebay code readers.

I need to get the right reader since my '95 cab is drinking fuel like it's going out of fashion (20mpg - in the uk with 98Ron costing 110p-125p a litre ![Smile](https://www.audiworld.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
I've had the USB-OBD cables off ebay and couldn't get that to even connect via VAG-Com so don't want to waste anymore cash.
On the fuel subject, has anyone seen an LPG kit on the V6 engine ?
