Default If you have ESP then use it! Kidding...

Maybe I'm just unfamiliar with protocal but I figured it wasn't cool to just start hammering a guy with emails about how to do something. I wanted to let the forum posting process run it's course. In the future, do you mind if I email you directly? I've never done this before...

Default usually just my name in a post will get my attention....

but I'm amazed that anyone who saw the pic you'veposted wouldn't recommend just clearing a path instead of digging thru it. Even if no ones done one it's easy to see you're working thru some easlily removeable spaghetti. And I'd never replaced one til I replaced mine but I could easily see doing this without removing some stuff would be like changing a piston thru the throttle body.

I don't read/check "every" post as some don't interest me. But I stumbled upon your's by it's number of responses. I thought you'd been well-handled due to the sheer numbers. Somtimes that will spark an interest and I have to go in, see what all the hooplah is about.

I do get a LOT of emails so try my name in a post first. Then we'll take it private if necessary/appropriate.

Default the one thing AA won't do is try to "convince you to buy/try" anything...

ever! It's SO not necessary, intrusive, presumptuous and not AA's nature. Just doesn't suit him... AT ALL.

Default Sure?

Get rid of that stock plenum for less restriction, which equals more power. Also enjoy ease of access to engine components without the plenum being in the way all the time.

Default Granted....but if I don't know what it is or how to install it (or why I should for that matter)...

then I will need some guidance, not convincing. That's what I meant. Do you mind telling me why I might want to install that item, where it goes, how to reattach all the tubing that mounts to the top of the OEM item (or does it?), etc. I'm a sucker for modding/tuning but can only get excited when I feel educated. Thanks!

Default What miktip posted is the Stage 3 hose kit. It replaces the restrictive stock Throttle Body Plenum

and accordian hose. It's 3" silicone hose that runs from the MAF directly into the throttle body and the one pictured also has the optional crankcase breather sleeve (the smaller hoses in the pic which run to the valve covers).

Default If I knew I'd tell you!

I'm not sure if it was for a Passat. If I knew where Bryän posted that, I'd give you a link. I know it was on this board months ago.
