Default I think around $20 if you get them through a VM dealer. I'll try to dig up a part # for you later

but I'm sure they were posted here before (I think by bryan).

If you broke the connectors than throw them in the garbage. ;-)

Default I can't find the part #'s for those breather lines....

I looked all through my ETKA and all I found was the drivers side one if you have an automatic (it T's into the brake booster line) but thats it. I know they're here somewhere if you want to try to search or hopefully someone will chime in.

Default I searched before I posted initially and found no part #s. Anyone's input would be appreciated.

Thanks a lot for looking in ETKA, I appreciate your time.

Default If you call your local dealer they'll know exactly what you're looking for...

I called around yesterday and neither of my local dealers had the breather hoses in stock. They are $22.38 for the passenger side and the soonest they could get one in is Monday. That wasn't going to work for me so I found a German parts yard in town, looked through about 5 A4s and a massive container of engines, and finally found one in good shape. Installed her last night and everything working perfectly! Good luck, and don't be afraid to grab a good used part. They're brittle alright, but if you don't bend them much they seem to be durable enough. I'm pretty sure that sludge is normal since it's venting oily gases and crud.

Default eff you see....

I need to drive back to school this weekend. The local dealership doesn't have any and I don't know of any nearby salvage yards. CRAP. I'm in a bind now.

Default

Someone mentioned used 3/4" heater hose and a couple clamps as a temporary fix.

Default That may be my only recourse

Do you think the clamps would last 230 miles on the highway? That sounds like it may be my only recourse. I'm not sure exactly what clamps to buy but I'm probably going to be raiding Pep Boys.

Default Okay... found the part and it's "only" an hour away...

The guy had the wrong part number - ETKA can be dangerous! For anyone searching:
driver side valve cover breather hose part number
It looks like the part number is "078 103 221B" and I read that directly off of the plenum side plug. Apparently there's one in Linden NJ. That's still over an hour. There's also a VW dealership that can order me one by tomorrow, but at a cost of $77. Jeez, only in America can you buy a $70 12" metal hose.
