The adapter is a cut down OE MAF. I had a cheap *** adapter prior that was off center on the MAF restricting airflow. MikTip made the one in the picture, he did a great job on it.

btw, 3.5" will be a little too big. 3" will stretch over. IIRC a tiny bit of dish soap helps.

Default go Akimoto it flows faster than no filter at all ...

Dont waste time with S&B no matter how large they don't have a velocity stack which is the key to the Akimoto.

Default faster than no filter . . . ?

how do you figure this?
Like the old K&N adds "The dirtier the filter gets, the better it breaths"

The Akimoto FunnelRamIV has an integral velocity stack that accelerates the incoming air.

Just go to their site and contact them directly via phone. The shipping was cheap and quick from what i remember.

Default So would I be able to stick this in the stock airbox?

and cut out the supports and smooth out the airbox. and perhaps add some more holes at the front of it?

also would adding the heat repelling tinfoil stuff around the outside of the airbox help anything?

The FR IV

I won two on EBay a while back - If you don't mind purple.

It has a 4" outflow so you would need a silicone reducer ($15 on EBay)

I can't swear that it is a IV but the cross section is identical to what's shown on the Akimoto web site.
